The Monterey County Examiner is a free, online only, investigative journalism and community news resource that will expose hard truths about the current state of California and Monterey County elected Politicians, Judges, other civil servants, courts, court clerks, county clerks, legal lobby members, media, and other commercial players.

What will be revealed is beyond the imagination of those who are not familiar with the inversion found along the California Coast at this time.

Starting just after WWII, acts by those licensed to practice law as "officers of the court" initiated an intentional undermining of the California Legal System that will be viewed as earth shattering when 80 years of societal deceit unravels "over night".

Some of this will be cringe worthy, disgusting and/or terrifying, but without shining a light on it all, it will only continue to fester. While some may detest the attention, Inspiring Change has always been the opposing force for inversion.

Presentation Styles

A cautionary nod to Attorney John R. McDonough Jr and the inversion he spun from 1949 until his passing in 2006

We may use presentation styles a-typical for a "news source" to convey mind blowing stories quickly.

We may present some of this as if it's part of a TV Series, a screen play, a book or moving script . We may share real Civil Demands, Legal Complaints, discovery documents, and/or litigation related emails along with a LOT of other emails to bring the stories and facts to life quickly.

The goal is to create the most informative, educational, and understandable material possible to catalyze change. We are not doing this solely to inform or entertain.

We need rapid and viral change to reverse community issues that are sliding full steam ahead in the wrong direction.

The rate at which "the wrong" is being done by adults inverted with self interest versus the rate at which "other adults with vested interest" are waking up is still too disparate.

Wake up to Speed up. Speed up to Catch up.
Then slow it all down until we find solid ground again.
Because we are off the cliff and falling now.

Then and only then will we be prepared to grasp the challenges ahead, arriving like a locomotive gone wild.

Millions of people in California look at legal statutes, read them and say "bah humbug". Nobody enforces them, including Superior Court Judges and those on the trail to the CA Supreme Court.

After a 4 year search for a singular explanation for all the inversion, the son of Irish Immigrants, Attorney John R. McDonough Jr., leapt from the pages of history.

For now, we are going to blame him singularly for this mess in a way that may be a deserving or far oversimplified (by excluding the 1600 landers, for example). For now we will presume his Irish Immigrant roots were all that was to blame -- and that there were no greater ties back to Queen and Crown, the notorious Bank of England, or Lloyds of London -- although it's apparent his outlandish acts benefited the Global Insurance Industry to no end while utterly destroying the underbelly of the California Commercial and Civil System.

Due to McDonough's acts and influence, the California Legal System is now "non-recoverable" without a reset back to 1985, and back to the 1950s in some sections.

Everyone in CA knows something is wrong, None have heard this story before. No matter how much you'd like to say "oh no way, it can't all track back to one creative but utterly bent son of Irish Immigrants and a jaded Irish Clan", current facts state otherwise indeed.

Story 1

In the early 2000s a Jewish Chiropractor purchased a home in Monterey County with permission from the neighbor to become the third connection on a two connection well system (aka water system)

His building permits were fully approved with but one last ministerial step of well connection approval. To his horror, the Envionmental Health Bureau used their building permit review power to deny his permit due to "contaminants" that were not bad enough to require any change on the existing system if he didn't connect. How does that work?

For two decades he was jacked around until a friend who had become familiar with wells, water system laws AND systemic inversion afflicting the entire Monterey County government slowed down enough to try to understand his story again

What they agreed upon on that day was terrifying. The Chiropractor had been the victim of a targeted hoax by the Monterey County Builing Permit office at the behest of Environmental Health Bureau Employees -- but others had stepped in a decade later who continued it even though they were not involved when it was first initiated. Who does that and why?

Story 2

In March 2019, a couple of attractive women approached a tenant at the the end of his driveway offering free well testing. One said if the well was found to be contaminated with nitrates, they'd provide free delivery of drinking water.

That led to an investigation which led to a local town hall meeting where it was apparent the "will of the people" was being usurped by powers moving far faster than them.

An "unknown man" by the last name of Church was driving part of the push. Church's father lead the local NIMBY movement - which could use permit suppression to prevent development. Church became North County Supervisor in 2022 while running on a "small business" ticket, but seemingly engaging with the Environmental Health Bureau on a Well System hoax of his own.

Story 3

In April 2021, a middle aged couple was forced from their long term rental situation and into a horrid real estate market with rents and home prices skyrocketing. It was during a peak of the COVID craze.

They engaged with Peter Whyte, Coldwell Banker's most senior Agent Trainer for guidance.

Whyte stated the Contract Template he presented, which stated they were to make an offer and get it accepted BEFORE they were to be given seller disclosure documents was "long standing process in CA". When questioned Whyte had no ability to explain when and how "reliance on material facts a time of forming a contract" could transpire.

This story leads to coordinated real estate brokerage and legal lobby fraud since the 1980s, corruption in the courts, court consolidation problems, Contractor and inspector fraud today, corruption in Permitting and the Environmental Health Bureau, and the use of Well/Water System regulation to suppress affordable housing efforts (ADUs) and yet another Hoax. This one's an entire world unto itself but with a lot of overlaps too.

Story 4

In May 2025, owners of a 9 connection well/water system were sent a notice from the Monterey County Environmental Health Bureau that suggested Hex Chrome 6 had been added to the list of tested contaminants, the well had tested high for that, and that the county had oversight authority for the system which it did not, since it was below 15 connections.

The notice referenced $5000 fines that did not or should not apply to systems under 15 connections. An email was sent to EHB executives for clarity -- but they oddly refused to answer.

8 monhs later the demand was sent in again -- as needs for a building permit were rising -- and the most evasive answer unimagginable was returned exposing yet another hoax, and that gave rise to this entire publishing.

Story 5

From March 2023 through December 2025, four different email strings were started with Monterey County District Two Supervisor Glenn Church. When the first email on the first string came back wound wrong, a reply was made to query the source. When that came back with a period but nary a bit of common sense, it was apparent something was amiss. That was the start to a three year "scurfuffle" with escalating requests for support for county and state wide fraud related to Building Permit Deviance, the Environmental Health Bureau Batons, Water System Slop, Rogue Real Estate Brokers, Jolting Judges, Crooked clerks and much more. What was returned was a shocking escalation of evasion in the responses, and NOT well hidden as others can do? What this $500k+ Supervisor and his office staff of three should have cared for most -- they cared for least (less one).

In December 2025 the wall became clear -- and a civil demand was sent asking for confirmation of email authorship and email control over his office -- done to turn the emails into actionable legal documents -- and out stepped a Kingdom's King with nothing due to anyone -- concealed as an elected Supervisor with duties to all. After some digging, it appeared it may have been his Queen -- McKween -- who owned all the land, but time will tell the tale.

Each of these five stories above could give birth to movies, books, and plays -- and stand alone.
We haven't time for that now. That can come later.
What we need to focus on now is the connecting thread needed to "Stand Together".

And how again does all this relate to the late, great Irish-ish Attorney John R. McDonough Jr?

Once the Hoaxes in the legal lobby start, as they did in 1974 with the introduction of the Political Reform Act and a very crooked process related to SEI 700 forms -- followed by McDonough's targets for Hoax in the late 1970s (the entire CA Brokerage Industry) -- followed by more in the mid 1980s (attorney cost shifting) -- they build on themselves like rolling snowballs in ways that
make the Abominable Snowman look small.

If Hoaxes and Hoaxters like McDonough are not caught immediately upon identification,
they don't stop until society is launched from the cliff.

And don't look now because for those in the Western World,
there's no longer any terra firma below.

This Monterey County Examiner website is being created to "fast walk" you and other important members of the community into concerns that have been getting exposed in the bowels of social media for that past 4 years, over a decade if the real truth about Tinklers and Tinkers be told.

However, overwhelming you now does nothing for tickling the citizen in you that must rise up for this to resolve without far greater harm. We want to draw you in, not overwhelm you.

If you need the goods on any of the "Open Investigations" which are listed somewhere on this site -- but in a place you'd need to go find them before they are formally introduced -- drop us a line and we'll try to oblige.

Many of the people who will be exposed thought it was all fun and games futzing with the guy who kept slinging emails at them. None had any clue of a larger plan for publishing to match the requirements for landing after a silent launch, already well underway.

This collection of publishing is going to make a case that the system of Governance for Monterey County, every county in California, and the entire State of CA needs to be abandoned, as well as the entire US Legal System too.

It also exposes a need to dissolve the Environmental Health Bureaus locally, nationally, and maybe even internationally -- because they've been engaging in non-scientific Drinking Water fiascos -- but this is all only relevant if the people of Monterey County and all others wish to continue as a community.

As "preposterous" as that may sound now, as you read into this, if you can think of other fixes, the floor will be yours.

Smith is a New York hedge fund manager known as the "founder of Vulture Capital" and he and his company have a reputation for "strip mining" its newspaper holdings. "

You - "How does one 'strip mine' newspapers?"

Me - "First and formost only old people probably subscribe and they are likely subscribers to death. then it looks like they centralize printing and take over editing. Presumably they may lay off some local people and this day in age, they may have AI going out to curate stories and do layouts. Then it may be a function of getting paid NOT to print stuff more than to print stuff -- and heck, maybe they even use tips that come in for blackmail instead? That seems to be the modern trend around a lot of things. Why not in the print news business too?"

You - "Wow. I never thought of it that way. that's really wrong".

Me - "Me neither. I didn't even look it up until after I was comitting to this path and realized the door may be wider open for fresh chops than most could ever have imagined".
